Boberg Arms, makers of my beloved pistols, have been bought out. Don't know why, but a while back Arne, the genius behind the designs, left. His wife stayed with the company. I'm dissapointed, but not surprised by this. What is this going to mean to us customers? only time will tell.

Bond Arms, Inc. is excited to announce it has purchased the assets and product lines of Boberg Arms Corporation located in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Boberg Arms is the pioneering developer of compact and concealable, full-power semi-auto handguns featuring a unique, patented rear-feed system.

Bond Arms, of Granbury, Texas, is the industry leader manufacturing the smallest, most powerful and best built personal protection handguns.

The Boberg-designed bullpup semi-auto pistol is a perfect fit in the Bond Arms product line of precision- engineered, quality-constructed compact personal firearms. This acquisition is effective immediately and includes a transition period that may temporarily affect the ability of current Boberg Arms owners to receive quick warranty service if needed.

Boberg Arms will be relocating its manufacturing from St. Paul, MN to Granbury, TX over the next several months. It can be expected that in early January 2016, Bond Arms will begin servicing and supporting all current Boberg firearms. Also, during the first quarter of 2016 Bond Arms is expected to begin refining and building the next generation of these bullpup pistols under the Bond Arms name, on a limited basis at its Texas facility.

Customers of both companies are encouraged to follow the transition process on their respective current Facebook pages, and post any questions you may have there as well. This is also where we will announce when pre-orders for these next- generation Bond Arms bullpup semi-auto pistols can be placed, so stay tuned! --

Speculating without proof? He left the Company, his wife stayed, then the company gets sold. Sounds like a marriage breaking up to me.

BTW, which Boberg do you have? I am crazy and have a 9short, 9long, and a 45. Got the 9short on Gunbroker a while back for a STEAL! It came with not only night sights (not advertised on Gunbroker) but also had 11, yes, eleven magazines. Sold off a couple and made the gun even cheaper.

I have the XR9-L

I am actually excited to learn this. I have always kind of wanted one but the head guy was such a dick to me that I refused to own one. Now that he is out of the picture I may end up getting one. I like the people over at Bond Arms.

Im curious to what happened?

It will be interesting to see if they can keep up the quality manufacturing that go into these. The parts look like they were machined for a fine watch. I hate shooting mine because it gets the insides dirty. :)

That's too bad. My only real beef was slow or non-existant response to emails. Great guns. Never had a gun WANT to put a bullet where I aimed it more than my Bobergs.

I was approached and asked if I would like to review one for my YouTube channel. I told them I do not review loaner guns and that I prefer to buy them so I am not beholden to the manufacturer. I went and ordered one to do a review. Months later the gun still had not come in so I called them directly. They told me they could sell me one direct but then quoted me a price about $75 over MSRP and more than $300 over what I had ordered it for from a local dealer. I was not about to be gouged for a premium price on a gun when the manufacturer was asking for free publicity for their product. When I told him this he got pissy with me. He then told me he did not have the time nor the desire to deal with me and told me to take it or leave it. I left it.

Those are very nice looking pistols. I just cringe a bit at the almost $1,000 price tag. They are a work of genuine American craftsmanship though. I would think they will be a great fit for Bond Arms as they already turn out some nice products.

When I want to pull bullets...

A little careful buying of ammo, and one never has to have that particular experience. For all the ammo I have put through my Bobergs, I have never had it happen.
