I was looking for a picture and came across this one from 3-4 years ago. This was a very long day and thank goodness we got her to something resembling a road. I don't recall the hanging weight other than the butcher said she was bigger than many of the Bulls he had seen that year. My Muzzleloader tag is one Elk and I'm not particular when filling a freezer.

One year I shot a spike elk. Hanging next to a 6x6 he didn't look much smaller. The year or two after, my wife shot a spike and he wasn't much bigger than a big deer.
Genetics, Baby!

Killed what I call "The Boxcar Cow" up in the Trask with a bow some years ago. Far bigger than any bull I've ever seen hanging.

Good work. That's how to feed a family.

Elk are too hard to come by for me so the first legal one to give an opportunity for a shot is the one.
