You want real Chowdah you go to Maine. Yes that is a 10 pound lobbie....

I wouldn't call it the best, but the various chowder offerings at Harbor Light in Reedsport isn't bad.

My kitchen.
Same. The best I've had in Oregon is what I made at home.

Briefly boil the clams until they open and then remove them. Either use all the clams you have or 2x more than you think needed. Strain the clam juice to remove any sand, rinse the pot, return clam juice to the pot. Bring the juice to a boil, add spuds and carrots and simmer until tender. In another pot, fry the bacon crisp. Remove the bacon, sautée the onions or leeks in the bacon drippings. Stir in some flour and sautee. Add the clam juice and stir it up well, taste and adjust seasonings, add the spuds and carrots, taste again. Mash up some spuds if it needs to be thicker. Kill the heat. Add the cream. Add the clams. Ladle it into bowls. Chopped bacon on top of each bowl. Crusty bread and a malty beer.

Or go to MO's. Y'know…whatever.

On the north end of Canby is a place called Jarboes.
Some of the best chowder I've ever had. Other friends have been there and said the same thing.
Another place is in Willamette, West Linn Saloon and they have, or at least used to have a fantastic seafood chowder.
I've had some great seafood at the beach, but none of the chowder stands out to me.

edited: I originally said Molalla, which is incorrect.

I cannot eat milk based chowder.
Cioppino or bouillabaisse for me.
Best cioppino in Oregon is at Shark's Seafood in Newport/Agate beach, up by Yaquina Lighthouse.
I've had cioppino at Stone Cliff before, but nowhere else to judge against. It was very good.

Wherever I go, if I see cioppino on the menu, I'm ordering it (even if I'm not hungry).
I first had it 34 years ago at Morton's Bistro down in Salem (was very good). There have been other standouts since then, the other most memorable being at The Cannery in Newport Beach.

Clawson's Wheelhouse in Florence, Oregon, which is a little family restaurant that's been around for awhile, makes a good chowder too.

Captain's Galley over in the food carts by Portland Gun Club has great chowder and fish and chips.

It used to be in Gresham off Powell.

Do you mean Jarboe's Grill on the North end of Canby (not Molalla) on 99E?

As far as I know, there isn't a Jarboe's in Mollala.

Jarboe's in Canby is owned by the same people that own Bostons Pub and Grill in Wilsonville. Pretty much the same menu.

The chowder and food is better at Bostons in Wilsonville. However, it's been awhile since I've been to Jarboe's.

There used to be a clam chowder available at WinCo in WA state that was made by the local tribes. For years we bought it. Ivar's couldn't compare (I think Ivar's is decent, no shade).

No website, and the packaging was the bare minimum required by law. Dang good stuff. Disappeared in 2025, sad face
