The TR-1 trigger kit is available in the US now.
Very comfortable trigger shoe compared to stock.
All around much better in every way. Only reduced the trigger pull by 3/4 lbs. however. 4-3/4 now.

The factory shoe was very annoying to me… the new one is very comfortable and doesn't irritate my finger.
Breaks immediately after reaching the wall. Very short reset. Trigger has an over travel screw on shoe.
Pull weight is going to be higher than a lot of performance triggers but I don't even notice it truthfully.
Although each of the following triggers are a little bit different in there own way (PDP Performance, stock Canik, stock Sig P226 SAO) the TR-1 Trigger for the APX A1 is just as good IMO with a slightly heavier pull weight.

It is worth it to me 100%… it's the only option out there because Beretta isn't interested in fixing some easily fixable issues with the APX A1.

The importer doesn't do a very good job with marketing the Trigger IMO.
I wouldn't buy there "Strike One" handguns or anything else from them due to bad reviews of the strike one guns online and their sky high prices.

I have to wonder about the performance of the other TR-1 triggers for the Glock for example… because the one for the APX A1 Fullsize is that much better than stock.

You can now buy the APX A1 tactical that comes with the Suppressor height sights and the threaded barrel… for a very good price, but not in WA state…. Vote the socialist democrats out!

The main issues now are Beretta still charges you for an optic plate, they don't offer a plate for the Holosun EPS for a better co-witness and they use an oddball (screw pitch/diameter) Allen head screw of poor quality that strips out easy instead of a Torx head screw.

What the distributor explains:

The trigger pack is made with completely hand-crafted original Beretta components.

The TR-1 Essential Kit consists of the following:
  • Ergal CNC trigger with red safety and built-in trigger stop. Matte black MIl-spec electroplating
  • Trigger lever, machined at different angles and mirror finished (fig2)
Compatible with all versions of APX except for the "Carry/Nano" model.

The kit can be used with stock firing pin springs and firing pin safety. The trigger pack has a shockproof, waterproof case and a FREE TR-1 patch.

I have talked with Beretta Customer Service about the APX over the last year like a lot of people have I am sure. The A1 is a vast improvement over the A0 model with the awesome slide serrations that bite into wet hands or gloves now. Add the taller sights and threaded barrel from the factory and it's one of the best all-round values out there to date IMO.

The APX A1 will cost you $400 to $420 (this includes shipping, taxes, FFL and the new $18 state fee) for the tactical compact or Full-size versions if you take advantage of their rebate offer and purchase your optic plate through MGW.

Add the TR-1 trigger upgrade for around $240 shipped and it will have comparable performance to other similarly priced polymer handguns.

I was able to dump a 20 round mag a lot faster and easier with the trigger upgrade. Pretty nice for a duty/service type weapon.

The A1 comes with the green striker performance spring assy. from the factory.
It has been 100% reliable for me.

Shot show 2024 is happening this month… hopefully they will have an A2 model with an improved trigger and optic mounting system… without the cheap Allen head screws (size listed in the manual) for the optic.

Beretta mags are plentiful and inexpensive.

I think the Springfield Echelon needs to be given the most credit for out of the box performance for a Polymer striker fired duty type handgun for 2023 IMO. Their optic mounting system out of the box eliminates a lot of hassles.

Finding a handgun that fits your hand when you grip it properly, so when you pull the trigger you don't disturb your sight picture by moving the gun is half the battle.

Some of the best Polymer handguns I have shot out of the box that need minimal upgrades or additional expense to mount an optic (in the order of least upgrades required to the most) are:
•Springfield: Echelon
•Walther PDP compact, or the PDP-F **
•Canik: MC9, Elite SC, Mete SFX (most models)
•M&P 2.0 9mm Performance Center C.O.R.E with the ported barrel **
•Glock: 45 MOS
•APX A1 Tactical Compact or Fullsize (buy plate)
•CZ: P-10 OR (buy plate)
•P365 - $$$ for what you get

**If you want to use the Holosun EPS, 407k or 507k you may need to buy a plate… the EPS does come with an RMR footprint adapter plate but may not co-witness with the factory iron sights if you use it.

Thanks for the info. I really have no problem with the OEM trigger other than the weight. Admittedly I only just got mine so it certainly hasn't broken in yet. I'll have to give it some time to wear in before I decide if I'm going to pony up for the TR-1.
