I worked with a few of those guys early in my career. They were all kinda different. They were very intelligent but most were also quite full of themselves.

Another "attribute" held by some engineers, is an apparent absence of any capacity for self-introspection.

This I have only VERY recently discovered.

As pointed out by Richard Feinman, "I don't know" is often the right answer.
