I have the S&W M&P15t and was reading on how to zero the sights. This front sight post is adjusted by depressing the detent and rotating the post. Is there a tool I should use to rotate the post? It's square and too well protected to be rotated using fingers...

A ballpoint pen, an empty cassing, a leatherman, ect.- just push the detent down and turn. Trust me, you wont hurt it.

Just remember, up is down and down is up...meaning that if you are turning the front sight clockwise (down) you are bringing the bullet up on the target.

All of the stuff about .223 cases, ballpoint pens, Leatherman's, etc. is true, but for as little money as the little front site tool costs, they're worth having. The other methods work great. The sight tool is just a handy thing to have.
