So how do you really know if you are getting a normal barrel, a heavy barrel or a bull barrel? Where does a match barrel fall? I understand that the M4 barrel is the light weight tactical barrel, but what if you want something a bit heavier, fluted for quicker cooling, for hunting purposes? Something that will not weigh you down while walking from set up to set up ...

I guess I am to old school, with Bolt Action barrels coming in contours from #2 to #9, for example.. I know a #2 is a pencil barrel, will heat up quickly... I know a #9 is basically going to be a bench rest type barrel because it will be basically an inch in diameter... AR barrels do nothing like this, and it is very very frustrating finding the barrel you want.
