Engraved field gun shells. They're both identical except for one having a British soldier and one having a French soldier. Not sure where these came from, but considering they both say "SOMME 1917" I might have some ideas.

The title is a joke, but I am curious who could have made/sold these. They're so similar that I don't think they were made in a trench.

The French one must be the one with the chicken on it!!
No answer to your question, but it would be cool if they were both made by the same trench artist. Cool pieces in any case.
