Any simple spray on applications to protect blued steel?

If u think ballistol or eezox will leave a residual smell that animals can smell I would use Boeshield. It's mainly parrafin. There are tests on the internet vs other common protectants that show boeshield excels at rust protection. You can get it inexpensively at sears in a large aerosol can. It is usually with the table saws in the tools section. Personally I would NOT use any kind of paint on a blued finish.
