I knew one guy, an engineer, who instead of using or knowing about a little light fixture box bracket/ bridge that holds the threaded tube that holds the fixture/ lens in place, used four large bronze cleats, lag bolts and then wall anchors to hold a tiny wall sconce in place.

Careless, wire should be all black with blue tape wrapped around the connection.
