I have a shiny new stainless barrel that I would like to blast do a dull finish. How do I go about keeping the abrasive out of the barrel and off the crown? It doesn't seem like masking tape or the earplug trick will hold up to the pressure...
I found a plastic plug used to plug brake lines that fit perfect in the bore and covers the crown. The other end recieved tape over the threads and chamber. So far it held up just fine. It was getting too late to make noise in the garage so I didn't get to finish it just yet. Earlier I blasted the bolt and it turned out great.
