I had a savage axis in 6.5 creedmoor and wanted to give the 8.6 a go on the cheap with all the hype I've been seeing on the caliber. So I bought a 12.5" MosTec barrel and a set of Manson go/no go gauges and did my first barrel swap. Filed for the tax stamp that took roughly 6 months to clear and I finally was able to assemble.
Finished build list is:
12.5" MosTec barrel with 1:3 twist
Magpul hunterlite stock
Factory axis action/trigger
Leupold pic rail
Leupold rings
Leoplold vx3 4-14x44 scope
Scilencer co bravo muzzle device and I run my hybrid 46 on it. Only ammo I have ran is Halworx 350grain Rex makers and have had pretty consistent results so far.
