In the early 38-40 rifles (1892), they were firing obviously a 38-40 round. It looks like a .40 or 10mm lead will fit the cases.

I was wondering if there are any modern day ammunitions suitable to be fired through that gun?

If you handload, I can supply some recent data regarding my 1889 Marlin. Bore diameters may vary, therefore lead alloy hardness (or lack thereof) can be important.
I'd love to, but finding the dies for that has proven to be far more of a challenge than finding primers. :)
