I struck gold recently when moving house and found a lot of silver coins in my new attic. They are mostly British and date between George I and Queen Victoria.
Some googling tells me that there are some gems in this collection, some of the nicer ones are: 1763 Shilling only about 400 minted, a 1720 George I shilling, two 1787 shillings, three 1787 sixpence', two 1775 half pennies, a 1775 farthing (quarter penny), a really tiny silver 1 penny from 1757, has a hole in it. Still really cool though, elizabeth I 1574 Shilling. There also appears to be a shilling sized coin from just about every British colony. There are also a few bracelets made from coins, total weight of the coins is 33 oz. There are some really nice copper coins from the same periods too.
I think the value of the silver is around $530+. Given that these are better than scrap, and the rarity of some of them, I'm going to value them conservatively at $1500, I'm sure they are worth more than that and someone might make some money from them.
Interested in trading for a nice 308 bolt action set up, quality unused optics, Tavor, FAL (NOT CIA or HESSE).
