Some of the prices I found online would require me to take out a second on the mortgage to fund that adventure.

In all seriousness, they seem to be somewhat of a rarity. I just figured there was a bullet head out there on the forum that would be much more knowledgeable than myself. I've got a couple interests, I just want to be fair and not take it in the shorts.

I think it's mostly a European cartridge, we have the 300 win mag and others. I can't recall ever seeing a 308 normal mag rifle for sale.

I'd list them for a shooter, ~$200 for your lot if manufactured ammunition. If reloads, they can't be listed for sale on here.

I appreciate your info. The four full boxes are definitely factory, the box of spent casings would be listed as reload parts.

You might be able to get a little more out of it if it's hard to find. If it's that rare, you're better off buying a new rifle and shooting it. My 300 PRC ammo is around $50/box.

You'd do better listing them all together as a lot. IMO.

Of course you could list the brass for sale separately in the reloading classifieds, if you wish.

That's why it's better to buy a new toy.

This is not a popular cartridge in the US. It came out in the early 60's and was gaining some traction, but a year later the .300 Winchester Mag was released and the M70 rifle was less expensive compared to the custom or reworked guns. It was a custom chambering. Norma loaned chamber reamers to gunsmiths at no charge that helped keep the cost down, but it was still a very expensive project compared to buying a M70 off the rack.

Ballistically it's nearly identical to the WM. It does have a longer neck, making reloading a bit easier and giving it slightly more case capacity.

Owners of this chambering would probably pay a premium for good condition factory loads. How much, well that I don't know. GLWS

What you have is a little better 300 Win Mag ammo. The only way you will find ammo is online and it run's $80 to $140. What you have there probably ran at $80 when bought. I have a 308 Norm Mag. but it is a Springfield 03a3. Father--in-Law built in the early 60's.

I had a good friend that had a 30-338 ( 338 Win Mag necked down to 30) he had made. Pretty much the same cartridge as the 308 Norma. At one time I had a Browning Safari Grade rifle chambered in 308 Norma. That was a awesome rifle, back when they used commercial Mauser actions for the magnum chamberings.
