I've got a suppressed x95 Tavor in 300 Blackout and I have my supers ammo figured out. I'm looking for recommendations for subsonic 300 blackout ammo that would be suitable for defensive purposes. The Tavor needs likes rounds that are more pointy than not. Thanks in advance for any and all recommendations!

I haven't yet tried them myself, but Hornady makes 190 gr. Sub-X subsonic expanding ammo.

I set up a 300 Blackout AR SBR with a Faxon 9" barrel and Obsidian 45 suppressor oriented towards home defense. While I've not tried all variations...the Hornady 190 gr SUB-X has been the most accurate by far in my initial short range testing.

The Hornady 209 gr. A-MAX looks interesting, also.

Makers would be my first choice or Sierra 240gr SMK they won't expand but they will tumble.

I've been looking for something similar to the OP for 8-9" AR 300 blk. An initial loading of expanding subs for suppressed indoor use followed by self defense capable supers.

Will try some out. the nose might be too large, but they would be great if they'll feed!
Admittedly short range...but a positive initial result for short range home defense. These were first 8 consecutive rounds of the 190 SUB-X from my 9" Faxon Match barrel.

I get the best sub-sonic performance out of the 208 grain A-MAX in both 7" and 10.3" 1:7" twist barrels. These are on AR-style firearms. Might be different for your Tavor.

Added 125 grain OTM for comparison

I am going to try the 190 grain SUB-X next.

Yikes

the 190 sub x ammo does not look to expand consistently enough or have enough energy for my liking in a hd situation. If I were to use subsonic ammo for hd, I would use the same setup I use for subsonic deer hunting. A 10" 458 socom pistol shooting a 500gr maker subsonic expanding all copper bullet, consistently expands at 1000fps and absolutely drops deer in their tracks. I have shot a deer with a 300blk subsonic round (208 amax) and the results were less than impressive. While I did eventually recover the deer it was hours later and it required more killing when I found it.
