1911 9 mm mags.

The mag with my new 9mm 1911 is a little tight and loading #'s 9 and 10 are pretty tough.

I took it apart this morning, cleaned it and put it back together (no lube!) and that helped but #10 still tight and it takes a bit of a good 'push' to lock it into the magwell.

It DOES seem to hand cycle them all through smoothly and hopefully later today I'll be shooting it but just wondering if this is common with new 1911 9mm mags.

RIA says it's a Mec Gar but it does NOT say on the mag.

Possibly ACT? RIA uses those with their 45's or at least they did.
Not sure why yours was difficult to load! Mine load fairly easy.

Yea I don't know.

I'll give it a little 'break in' time with the gun and see if it improves. If not I might eventually drop one 'coil' off the spring to give # 10 a little more room.

I'm thinkin' now it AIN'T a Mec Gar as the holes and numbers are staggared and the Mec Gars are straight in a line.

Yep most likely an act brand and should be fine after a few go arounds. My xt22 mag uses act mags as well and I am pretty sure all their mags they sell on their site (well Advanced tact) are also.

I have one that came with a different gun and looks identical to the ACT-MAG. When it was new it was very difficult to load the tenth round but it's easy now. I think I remember when it was new it was only possible to load the last round if the rears of the cases were actually alternating instead of having 2+ next to each other randomly on the same side (I know the mags are "single stack" but the rear does actually stagger a bit with 9mm 1911s); now it doesn't matter.
