I must be too young to remember that oneRemember the old 9mm magnum,, in the Wildey I believe.
What an odd bird. Probably more reliable than a .357 mag out of an autoloader though.
Thicken the brass walls, fully support the chamber, and then put that cartrige in a Mauser broom handle style platform (so length of cartridge/grip is not an issue). And you now have my dream pistol.
You answered your own question.
The 10mm is already way up there in pressure.
1300 fps is about as fast your gonna get a 200 grain bullet without running into pressure issues.
I believe the 10mm magnum has already come and gone. I think you can still get brass for em.
Pretty rare guns but they would be the way to go.
Here is some data from a guy loading 10mm magnum. He's not getting anything near what your looking for from a regular 10mm.

DIAMETER OF UNFIRED BRASS ABOVE WEB IS .42
You can make it work with the right tooling
Anything is possible but maybe not in a traditional style 1911 frame. Maybe in a Desert Eagle configuration?
454 casull frame revolver?
Someone somewhere has done it. But there needs be a reason.
Why not just use a 44mag or a 454? More energy from those
I was thinking of something fired from std 10mm autos modified in the same fashion as 45acps are for the 460 Rowland.
The HK UMP in 10mm exists. The 357 from a 16" barrel shoots like a 44 mag from a 6" barrel and the 44 does the same compared to a 454
So a 10mm should be quite the gun the OP wants in a carbine configuration
I would love to have a 10mm AR with a 16" barrel
***With g20 30rd glock mags***
Yeah I know they don't exist
Maybe what someone should do is neck a 10mm down to 9mm... and sell drop in conversion barrels.
