Raytheon ELCAN Optical Technologies, also simply ELCAN (Ernest Leitz CANada), is a Canadian optics and electronics manufacturing company owned by American defense contractor Raytheon, currently based in Midland, Ontario. ELCAN produces optical devices geared towards both civilian and military markets, and their products are sold through Armament Technology Inc. based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and associated channel of dealers.
Elcan was also the developer and source for the Elcan DigitalHunter rifle scope which was fully electronic and able to change reticles, cartridge ballistics, and atmospheric conditions by use of downloaded ballistic charts. When Elcan decided to no longer market the scope to the commercial market, it discontinued support for the scope and no longer maintained a site for the download of ballistic data and other functions of the scope. Essentially this lack of download support prevented users from effectively using the Elcan scopes already sold.
I’m clearing out the safe and have put together a mega bundle consisting of the best gear you could ever ask for and one of the best ARs on the market. The AR15 is the IC DI by LWRC with MLOK handguard. Fully ambidextrous including the bolt catch/release. Includes one pmag, an Elcan SpecterDR...
Howdy all, I'm parting with one of my LWRC AR's. This particular model is the IC DI with MLOK handguard. Like all LWRCs, the lower is fully ambidextrous including a right side bolt catch/release. These lowers are highly desirable and not sold individually. The upper is great too with a...
Up for sale is my gently used Elcan SpecterDR 1X/4X scope by Raytheon (5.56 reticle). This is the upper echelon of AR15 optics and is bombproof. This one is a fairly recent model and includes a killflash and rubber bikini covers, as well as original box and owner's manual. There is little...
Purchased from another member earlier this year but getting rid of the rifle and don't have a place for this serious piece of hardware. Optic is in excellent condition and the glass is very clear. 4x fixed magnification functions like an ACOG with better eye relief. Optic has the 5.56 62gr...
Testing the waters. Have had for years and just kinda sits. Bought brand new from Curt’s in Milwaukee and have fired around 500 rounds through the rifle. Asking $1400
Optic is an Elcan Specter os4 4x with the 5.56 62gr chevron reticle. I bought it from another member earlier this year. Very...
I bought this for a clone build. It’s been mounted but never fired. Great condition. I have the box, manual, kill flash and covers. I don’t remember if it came with anything else. Really nice glass with an extremely wide field of view. You can get mounts to do a red dot on top. My only complaint...

Got a very nice, gently used Elcan Spectre M145, illuminated reticle, made for 308 cal.
