.44-40 winchester
The .44-40 Winchester, also known as .44 Winchester, .44 WCF (Winchester Center Fire), and .44 Largo (in Spanish-speaking countries) was introduced in 1873 by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. It was the first metallic centerfire cartridge manufactured by Winchester, and was promoted as the standard chambering for the new Winchester Model 1873 rifle. As both a rifle and a handgun caliber, the cartridge soon became widely popular, so much so that the Winchester Model 1873 rifle became known as "The gun that won the West."
Very good condition '73 made in 1890. 24" round barrel (only 16% came with a round barrel) with excellent bluing, receiver has turned to patina, no rust or pitting anywhere. Shoots fine. Intact dust cover, crescent steel buttplate with storage for cleaning rod. Bore is clean and shiny rifling...
Colt-Burgess Rifle. The only lever action rifle produced by Colt. Very rare: 6,403 produced. Cartridge .44-40 Winchester. Action works, but not recommended for shooting. If in shooting condition then prices range between $3000 to $4000. For sale as a collector piece for $2000 OBO.
