Not the best service since it's a Pawn Shop, but good enough for the price
I've used Tigard Pawn for More many times for FFL transfers. They are always inexpensive and depending on when you go it can either be a very long afternoon or a quick in and out. I'll continue to use for them the pricing and location
came in during covid they had a system of 1 customer or group at a time which was understandable and the younger gentleman help us out selecting a hunting rifle for us. we settled with a savage 25.06 with scope and case and for the price it was amazing and out the door in less than an hour for our BGC. it has been awhile since i been there so rely on the more recent reviews. biggest news is that their unbeatable firearm transfer price shot up 10 dollars from 25 to 35. which is still nothing to sneeze at since more FFL charge 50-65 dollars so take it with a grain of salt.
They have one wall filled with guns. This is pretty typical for a pawn shop. The staff are friendly but can take a while to get to you. At the time I went there were mostly super high end revolvers, Glocks, AR-15's, and Taurus.
Among the few LGS willing to do FFL transfers following Measure 114. Welcomed a newbie and readily shared information and suggestions. Small family-owned business. Support the people who support us.
I have used Tigard pawn for multiple firearm transfers. Their fee is reasonable and service is friendly and professional. Some folks have a beef with following their rules but it isn't difficult. If you are the seller, show up with a gun locking device (we all have a boxful of 'em!) and a color photocopy of your drivers license.
limited selection, but it's a pawn shop, so I can't ask for a fully stocked "gun store"
I've made several firearms transfers here over the past few years. Alan is great and we've had several conversations about firearms-related topics as well as just general discussions. He seems to genuinely care about his customers and I always feel welcome going there.
The transfer fees are reasonable and they're willing to negotiate on firearms prices. There is a $5 fee required for a copy of your ID if you are selling a firearm there; this is of course waived if you bring your own copy.
I met a fellow NWFA member there to buy his gun. The owner (male) didn't seem put out by doing the transfer but seemed that his time was better spent selling (understandably). He even joked about the process being slow so we could look around to buy something.
they are easy to find and just minutes off I-5.
The transfer & background check was only $25 total so that was a good deal. Big deal if he charged $2 for color copies. Ink for copiers is expensive. This was my first transfer and I felt very good about the service.
I've done several transfers there. Never an issue. The only thing I don't like is they have a policy that they take your thumb prints for you. Otherwise good service, $25 transfers and knowledgeable staff. I will continue to do business there.
