Pros

  • Meh.
Been here three times. They remind me of the three bears. First time they were good. Second time mediocre. Third time terrible. Or to quote ol' bubba Forrest, they are like a box of chocolates -- walk in the door and you never know what kind of service you're going to get. There seems to be a pattern of aberrations as evidenced by these reviews that are all over the place. Bottom line is I avoid them now.

Not the first time, but certainly the last.

Pros
  • Reasonable transfer fee
Cons
  • One demeaning counter woman
I went there to perform a transfer on a gun I had traded for (motorcycle for gun). When we went to the counter and explained what we were there for, in a very demeaning and demanding tone the lady asked the seller where her color copy of his ID was. I explained that he'd never been there before and I was going to pay her to do it. Then she looked at me and said it will be $35 cash only and asked where my trigger lock was. When I asked her why I needed one she stated, "Because it's State law!" Then she proceeded to take sellers ID to the back to copy, complaining that she doesn't like to have to use up all of HER stuff and we should have come prepared. I then turned and saw the little sign that said "color copy of ID, $3."
I've done several transfers there and have never had an issue. When I went in today 1/6/24 the tall fella behind the counter was courteous and once retrieved the gun, allowed me to inspect before signing the 4473. It's because of him that I didn't rate the service as terrible
1. While they may have a store policy about trigger locks, it's not posted and the guy I picked the gun up from didn't make a peep about it. She lied when she told me it was State law.
2. I would never treat a customer the way she did and I will not ever subject myself, or anyone else to her ridicule.

Tried to sell a handgun there. First thing the guy did was take my gun and point it right at me without checking it first. They don't even know the most basic firearms safety. Don't go there.

Cons
  • Poor selection of firearms for sale.
  • Intentionally lowballs potential sellers.
  • Rude to potential sellers.
  • Apparently doesn't want people to conduct PPTs in their store?
An older blonde lady working the counter was extremely rude and sarcastic when I presented two handguns for sale. They were both in very good condition and had been occupying space in my safe. She asked what I want for them and I told her I didn't really know because I didn't know what fair market value was (figuring they would have a better pulse on the used gun market than me). She sarcastically says "Ok, $200 for both pistols". When I decline that offer, because it was clearly offered out of spite, and say that is way to low and say something in the ballpark of $300 each is what I figured she said that is what she'll wind up selling them for and then haphazardly tossed one of the guns back into its case, showing absolutely zero respect for my property, and then told me she wasn't interested. Another customer nearby inquired about what I wanted for one of them and when I said about $300 sounded fair the blonde lady rudely told me to "stop facilitating sales in her store". When I asked even if we'd pay for them to do the background check she cut me off and said I can't make sales inside her store and said I need to leave. On my way out the door she commented that it was my job to research market value before taking it to their store. An older review on this thread mentions a rude blonde lady so I'm assuming it's the same person. Just a bitter old person who should stay off the sales floor.

There was another employee present who seemed nice enough but this lady was definitely in some sort of mood. I've stopped in this shop a few times over the last 10 years and even bought two rifles from them - now I will never step foot in this establishment again.

Pros
  • Convenient Location
  • Cost is $25 (however, read cons)
  • Friendly staff (see cons)
Cons
  • Charges you for a photocopy of your ID
  • Must have a trigger lock with your gun in order to leave with your gun otherwise they charge you for one
  • Staff must hold your hand for fingerprints
Ive done at least 20 transactions over the years at Tigard Pawn 4 more. Their transfer and bgc fees for the most part are fair and I am glad they havent raised them. I probably would have continued to use this place had not discovered or befriended an awesome FFL in Oregon City. The staff at Tigard pawn 4 more is professional for the most part but I just cant get over their requirements ( see cons above ). For the right deal, id use them again.
this is my primary FFL

Pros
  • friendly place to transfer firearm, quick and low fee
  • quick transfer and low fee
  • good location, by the highway
the staff is friendly, and normally, there is no line waiting for firearm transfer.
this is my only FFL to get online firearm auction, super easy and smooth process. I just told them the auction contact information, the staff will handle all the remaining things and call you when they got the shipment.
$25 transfer fee is low. and location by the highway, easy to access.

Updated:
the lady is kind of not nice, throw away the gun shipping box without even ask my permission.
increased transfer fee to $35, webpage is still $25, there was a tall young man worked there, he was nice, but it seems quit the job there.
Don't see reasons to support this business.

Pros
  • Cheap FFL transfer.
Cons
  • Everything else.
Well, first of all, the lady behind the counter does have temper issues, so I don't think some of the negative reviews in here are exaggerating at all.

I do agree with the other reviewer saying that they have their weird store policies (locks and $2 color copied ID) clearly written (if you pay attention) but nothing changes that they are still little traps trying to squeeze out more bucks from customers who are not aware of these. Stereotypical business tactics of a pawnshop in my view, plain bs.

Their firearm inventory is not impressive at all. And I find it funny for seeing that NWFA support banner because more than half of the NWFA members that I personally know have told me that they do not use them for the same reasons. Some stories I heard from them totally made me believe that every negative review on this forum is not exaggerating.

I once tried to support this business, but I just don't see any reason why I would continue when there are many other competitors with better attitudes.

  • Dropped Customers New Handgun in the Room Behind the Counter
I used them once. Seemed sort of flighty and witnessed owner drop a customers handgun on the concrete in the room behind the counter. Won't go back.

Pros
  • nice folks.
  • low transfer price
Cons
  • color ID required for firearm sellers
Nice folks. The are very stringent on the rules for FFL transfer (color ID copy required, $2 cost) and all handguns need to be transferred with trigger lock.

Other than that, great to work with.

Pros
  • They no longer hold your hand to get finger prints, not really a “pro” but it’s not as awkward as it used to be, unless you like another man holding your hand.
Cons
  • They are a pawn shop, so the costumers aren't the best people
  • The $3 color copy of sellers ID (raised from $2) with no explaination
  • They raise the BGC price from $25 to $35 with no explanation
  • The owners should sell the place they clearly are burnt off and need a break from the pawn business.
  • They can’t seem to keep good employees at the store.
not always friendly over the years I have seen them treat others poorly, last two times I went in they treated me poorly because I questioned the raise of BGCs for no reason and telling them their website still says $25. It's not the law they get a color copy of your ID and is the only shop I have gone to that requires it and charges you for it.
The new guy is kinda rude, but he tries, I understand why they loose long time employees after seeing the way the owner treats people.
I don't pawn so i wouldn't know about that, prices are meh, some deals from time to time, I always ask for a lower price, its a pawn shop, they buy low and sell high.

I'm shocked to see good reviews here. I completed a transfer to Fire Demon here over the weekend and had never been treated worse at an FFL. I made every effort to be patient only because I suggested the place to meet up and I knew he drove an hour to meet me there. Otherwise, I would've walked out after the first smart bubblegum comment from the chubby blonde lady, who I presume is one of the owners. If your business doesn't offer services that every other FFL does, you shouldn't be extremely rude when explaining your "policies". $2 for a copy of your license is ridiculous. So is not accepting credit/debit cards. Even FFL's working out of their homes accept cards.

Once Fire Demon and I were finished, we had a 5-min discussion outside about the very poor service we received. I've had much better service at the DMV and I'm not even joking. I will definitely not be back. Too bad since the younger tall/skinny guy was very friendly. A Cut Above Pawn is a much better place to transfer a firearm. Excellent service and very friendly people working there.
