I've picked up a few pieces from Money Market, the owner and his son are good people and have fair prices on Sig Sauers. I check back with them periodically and hope to be a customer again soon.

This has been my go to for all transfers. Peter, the two Jasons and Joe have always been very professional and accommodating. The transfer prices are reasonable as well.

Was there yesterday and had my first private party transfer done. Went really smoothly and pj was very helpful. He was willing to make an exception to do the transfer for me at 530 pm which is 30 min before they close even though he said that they usually don't do it after 5. Luckily for me my background checks are pretty much instant so I was able to walk out within 30 with my firearm. They even had a decent case full of handguns. Which is a rare thing right now. I Will definitely be returning here.

Have used this place for 2 transfers now. These are my go to guys. When I think pawn shops and sometimes even gun shops, I don't think of positive vibes. This place, despite the fact it's in somewhat of a ghetto area, is pleasantly surprising. Staff is cool and helpful and their selection of firearms is a lot better than you'd assume by looking in from the outside. Their current rate on private transfers is $25 + $10 Oregon BGC so $35 total. Both times I've done transfers (both as seller) we've been in and out in under half hour. Some have mentioned it's somewhat of a drive from the freeway. I'd say it's far from 84 but not too far from the 205.

Pros
  • Great selection
  • Great staff
  • Reasonably priced transfer
  • Latest and greatest guns for poors like me to check out
  • Layaway plan
Cons
  • I spend too much money there
  • Layaway plan
  • Telephone pole in middle of the parking lot
Maybe I'm biased since I live 5 minutes away, but Peter and his crew have always been friendly and helpful to me. Even when my broke self only comes in to fondle guns I can't afford. I always owe them money, whether I have one on layaway or I pawn a gun to buy another gun. I'll keep doing all my sell transfers here and keep giving them my business.

I haven't done a private party transaction since the law and was a little unsure about the process....

I found Money Market via FFL finder on Gunbroker. I called the # and Peter answered. Very professional and helpful.

I met with the seller and when we went inside I was handed a 4473 and 10 minutes later I was approved and off I went.

The cost was $30.

So if you have to do a deal on the east side consider droping in. Or if you make a deal on the internet and need a place to receive your new gun.

Bought a rifle from another member here. Met at Money Market Pawn to do the transfer. They are fast and know their business. Lots of rifles, shotguns and handguns to browse while you wait.

The staff is friendly and bargains can be found. Take a look at their used rifles, shot guns and pistols selection. Yes, I've bought firearms from them in the past. Who knows......you might have just found a new pawn shop destination when you're hunting for firearms in the Portland, OR area. They'll also help you, when you need an FFL to do that private transfer. BTW, they also carry some new firearms too.

Aloha, Mark

Pros
  • Great selection for window shopping
Cons
  • Bad part of town
This is by no means a full-service gun shop. This is not a place to get your questions answered. But for a pawn shop it is great as a place for finding a used rifle, pistol, or shotgun. They also have new stuff! I think they'll order new guns as well as accept deliveries from online sellers.

Transfers are only $25 and they always seem to be available.

I've decided that this is going to be my go-to FFL for out of state transfers. I placed 2 orders with different retailers and my experience receiving them with Money Market were fantastic.

The first order was with a retailer who didn't have MM's FFL on file. So after placing the order, I emailed MM with my order info to have them send their FFL. This was about 4:30 in the afternoon. I wake up the next morning to a reply that they'd send their license info. Two days later, I go in to pick up a new Beretta APX. The owner (I'm guessing he's the owner), isn't 100% up to date on all the latest tech. I ordered a Wolf Grey frame for the APX at the same time. When he saw the frame, he asked if I'd ordered 2 guns. I explained that it's interchangeable and that the frame isn't serialized. He, very nicely, asked if I minded that he check. I didn't blame him, if he gets something wrong, it's his FFL on the line. But even with that, my start-to-finish time was about 10 minutes. My second order was even better. They were already on file with the retailer, so no extra effort was needed on my part. I had an XD(M) and an LCP II sent there. In and out, I'd say it took him 5 minutes to process the paperwork and background check.

They're really friendly. Well, about as friendly as anyone can be when you're in the store for less than 10 minutes at a time. :) They charge $20 per gun plus $10 for the BGC. For one gun, the price is pretty typical at $30. If you're ordering 2 or more, you can probably find a better price if you're willing to shop around a bit. But given my experience with them so far, I don't feel all that compelled to shop around.

If you want to look over the inventory they have, find a time to go when it's not busy. The glass case is packed so full with handguns that you're literally looking at the tops of slides. If you know your stuff, you can figure out what's what. But they're packed in so tight, you can't make out most of the price tags. From what I was able to see, everything seemed to be tagged at full MSRP. So you'll probably need to try haggling a little if you want any discounting.

Over the past month,I have been the seller for 2 private transfers and 1 purchase.
Just bought an AK this morning,as a matter of fact.
These guys are really friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with.
Completely painless transactions all 3 times.
I really appreciate the lack of condescending attitude that some other places have.
I live VERY close to several pawn shops and a BIG name gun shop, and I've had nothing but B.S. from them.
Money Market pawn has gained my business, and I will go out of my way to drive to them rather than use the other jerks nearby.

Also, the transfer fee is reasonable compared to my local places.($30 compared to $50 from the "cool guys")
Anyway,if you're members here,thanks guys!

I love this place. Price is decent and they have decent selection. They treat their customers good. You don't get that creepy vibes from them that you get from some of the other places. The owner himself is a firearm collector and the store often carries some rare modern firearms, like SIG SanSwiss P553.

Their transfer fee is the lowest as far as I know as well in Portland city. Just $30 flat or $32 with credit card.

Small shop but the guys are always fun and pleasant and they have cheap FFL transfers.
As of my last visit, still $20 plus $10 for the state for a total $30. He's my go to for online orders.
