Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
Went to do an FFL transfer, there were two people behind the counter and helped like 5 customers at once (a few of us needed to get background checks) pretty quickly.
I have been here a number of times, but have not written a review yet. They are always super friendly and transfers are quick and easy. You don't have to schedule an appointment to do a transfer, which is a huge plus, since so many FFLs require it now.
If you're a WA resident they will be more than happy to help you if you are looking to buy or transfer long guns. They are my go to since 1639 passed in Washington, since they have great service and are pretty close to me. If federal law would let people buy pistols in states other than their state of residence, I'd use them for all my transfers. The only downside is they're located in a "sketchy" part of town.
For a pawnshop, they also have a pretty good selection of firearms (around thirty pistols and maybe two dozen rifles).
These guys are awesome. Always super nice and fast for transfers/background checks. They take card which is super convenient. Only place I'll go to on the East side of Portland.
I've picked up a few pieces from Money Market, the owner and his son are good people and have fair prices on Sig Sauers. I check back with them periodically and hope to be a customer again soon.
Quick service, friendly staff next to a strip club now.
Cons
Parking and next to a strip club
Started using Money Market to do my online purchase and then private party transfers when I moved to the eastside.Very friendly staff. Transfer price is $40 that includes BGC. Parking is the biggest issue very limited.
This has been my go to for all transfers. Peter, the two Jasons and Joe have always been very professional and accommodating. The transfer prices are reasonable as well.
Was there yesterday and had my first private party transfer done. Went really smoothly and pj was very helpful. He was willing to make an exception to do the transfer for me at 530 pm which is 30 min before they close even though he said that they usually don't do it after 5. Luckily for me my background checks are pretty much instant so I was able to walk out within 30 with my firearm. They even had a decent case full of handguns. Which is a rare thing right now. I Will definitely be returning here.
Have used this place for 2 transfers now. These are my go to guys. When I think pawn shops and sometimes even gun shops, I don't think of positive vibes. This place, despite the fact it's in somewhat of a ghetto area, is pleasantly surprising. Staff is cool and helpful and their selection of firearms is a lot better than you'd assume by looking in from the outside. Their current rate on private transfers is $25 + $10 Oregon BGC so $35 total. Both times I've done transfers (both as seller) we've been in and out in under half hour. Some have mentioned it's somewhat of a drive from the freeway. I'd say it's far from 84 but not too far from the 205.
Latest and greatest guns for poors like me to check out
Layaway plan
Cons
I spend too much money there
Layaway plan
Telephone pole in middle of the parking lot
Maybe I'm biased since I live 5 minutes away, but Peter and his crew have always been friendly and helpful to me. Even when my broke self only comes in to fondle guns I can't afford. I always owe them money, whether I have one on layaway or I pawn a gun to buy another gun. I'll keep doing all my sell transfers here and keep giving them my business.
Bought a rifle from another member here. Met at Money Market Pawn to do the transfer. They are fast and know their business. Lots of rifles, shotguns and handguns to browse while you wait.
A little way off the freeways (access), but would be convenient if you lived in the area
Arranged to meet a seller from Vancouver late last week at another pawn shop in NE Portland. After arriving when they opened, we learned there was a problem with their FFL and they couldn't do any transfers at that time, so the seller suggested we head over to Money Market (it was a bit further out of the way for us both). Glad we did. Quick, efficient transfer, and as others noted, a pretty decent selection of guns for a pawn shop. Cost at $30 is fair compared to what some places charge, albeit a bit higher than my typical go to spots on the southwest side of the Portland Metro.
The staff is friendly and bargains can be found. Take a look at their used rifles, shot guns and pistols selection. Yes, I've bought firearms from them in the past. Who knows......you might have just found a new pawn shop destination when you're hunting for firearms in the Portland, OR area. They'll also help you, when you need an FFL to do that private transfer. BTW, they also carry some new firearms too.
This is by no means a full-service gun shop. This is not a place to get your questions answered. But for a pawn shop it is great as a place for finding a used rifle, pistol, or shotgun. They also have new stuff! I think they'll order new guns as well as accept deliveries from online sellers.
Transfers are only $25 and they always seem to be available.
