There has been enough response to set this up for Saturday Sept 12th 9am-3pm? or as much as you can do.
So if you can make it and want to help please respond on this post.

Hi Mike & Northwest Firearms,

Thanks so much for volunteering to clean-up the Browns Camp Rock Pit on a Saturday on September 12th. As we discussed, ODF will post the pit closed for the duration of the clean-up, provide SOLV bags and you are welcome to put all of the debris you collect into the day use dumpster at Browns Camp. Additionally, I will have an ODF staff member meet your group at the pit to help you get started. I will post information on our website and signs at the pit about your volunteer day as soon as you have confirmed your clean-up date.

I look forward to working with you on this project.

Sincerely,

Stephanie A. Beall

I am very flexible, and I would like to commit to helping, let me know what I can do to help get the ball rolling.

If you would like to contact me via PM, I could give you my phone #, or I could call you.

Thanks Muddman.:s0155:

I'm all in and can bring my two little helpers as well. I have a small truck and will work on borrowing a magnetic pickup tool from work. This is a great opportunity guys to help us as a shooting community, set a good image with the forest service and to promote our forum. Props to Muddman for getting this rolling. He has been in contact with me and I will do what I can to help him in setting this up. Anyone who may be interested please step up and give Muddman an I some feedback on the date/time so we can better coordinate this with her. I personally think it would be best to do it on the following week of the 12th when the quad riders are doing their clean up.

Borrowed from another thread. Thanks Frog

Coming from Portland, take Hyw. 6 going towards Tillamook off 26 heading west. Just past the summit, on the left (south side) is a very large DOT (highways) gravel storage at milepost 33. Turn left just before this yard. Follow the signs to Brown's Camp until the road ends at a T. The sign says Brown's Camp to the left. GO RIGHT! The shooting quarry is about a mile up this road on the left.

As of now, either day will work for me. Let me know which day and I will confirm.

Great idea! If we get enough guys, it shouldn't take long and we'll be able to get in some trigger exercise after the clean up.

Frog.
ps. Would be nice if we had, and wore our NWFA T-shirts! I just ordered mine.

please post the date and time thatis finalized and I will see what I can do to be up there also. I might begin a helper or two. I did not think trigger time would be happening that day, but in re-reading Stephanie's email it would appear that it could be opened back up after the clean up. Is that what everybody understands>?

So far it's looking like the 12th is our best bet then. Good to see so many of you rising to the occasion. Can you confirm Muddman and talk to Stepanie for us with this date as our planned "NWFA Cleanup at the Quarry?" :s0155:

By the way I'd be happy to meet anyone that morning, down in the Beaverton area to show them the way up if need be.

I would like to help with this. I'm fairly new to this forum and without any input but I have soaked up tons of great info from all the members and this could be a good way for myself to contribute.

Plus seeing garbage in our forest makes me ill. Right now I planned on going to the March on Salem on 9/12. www.marchonsalem.com I'm not sure what to expect from the event but I know how I feel about the cause. If for some reason I don't attend I'll be glad to show up at B/C with my truck and work gloves.

Thanks for allowing me to be part of this great forum.

I think we'll try to make it, but Joe and I will be spending that weekend at the beach for our anniversary weekend. It'll mostly depend on how tired we are and if we feel like driving back!
If this is a regular occurance, we'll definitely be up for it!

The 12th is a combination volunteer day – there will be trail work and clean-ups going on in a variety of locations. We start at 9:30 and go until 2:00 pm. The BBQ starts at 3:30 at the Smith Homestead (out by Jones Creek). It’s a potluck – ODF brings the meat and drinks and side dishes and the volunteers potluck the side dishes and desserts. You are more than welcome to join us for the BBQ.The 12th is a combination volunteer day – there will be trail work and clean-ups going on in a variety of locations. If you want to do something outside of the TSF – I will do my best to help you find contact information. I will bring the adoption papers on the 12th to review with your group.

We should still plan on starting at 9am, after us they can organize the other groups.

I just wanted to send out a quick reminder that there is a Volunteer Recognition BBQ Potluck after the various trail work parties this Saturday, September 12th. The BBQ Potluck starts at 2:30 pm and will be held at the Smith Homestead (MP 22.5 on Highway 6). Please bring a salad, side dish, or dessert to share with your fellow volunteers. Forestry will provide the burgers, brats, and beverages.
See you there!

Does anyone need directions or want to follow me up on Saturday morning? I am more than willing to meet you somewhere off of hwy. 26 if you don't know how to get there. Just shoot me a PM if intersted. It will be good meeting anyone that comes to help and the BBQ/potluck afterwards sounds like a good time. :s0155: So far the weather man says it should be nice that day.

for the 12th, Count me in. 9-9:30 Wish I could have a BRAT with you all. JAC and WakeAdrian, I'll cover your side of things. You can cover me next time family comes first in my house. Can someone lead me in? I'll either have the truck and trailer or little volvo (from SW Portland.)
