Indeed. Little pistol caliber carbine from Spain. The overwhelming majority are in 9x23㎜ Largo (aka Bergmann–Bayard), but there are some commercial/export models in 9x19㎜ Parabellum and .38 Super. There's some pics of the 9㎜ Luger variant here, if you are so interested.

No idea why they are called that, other than there is a small, somewhat crude, engraving of a warship of that type on most of these carbines.

Originally, the maker was Gaztanaga y Compania in Eibar, Espana.

.... no, I'm not that smart, I found a wiki page on that gun ;)...
