Carnival Magic "Ebola Cruise" Update: U.S. Coast Guard Conducts Mission To Retrieve Blood Sample
Posted on October 18, 2014 by sundance
As previously outlined, after being denied entry to Belize and Mexico, the Carnival Magic is set to arrive in the home port of Galveston Texas early tomorrow morning.

In anticipation of the arrival – the Coast Guard has finished a mission, to retrieve a blood sample for Ebola testing, from the healthcare worker who is quarantined on board. The U.S.C.G. completed the mission by flying a helicopter to the cruise ship and used a basket extraction to retrieve the blood sample. The sample is now being flown back to the U.S. Mainland.
The goal is to test the blood sample prior to the ship's arrival and dissuade any fear the public might have prior to the passengers and crew de-boarding the vessel. Here's the statement from Carnival:
"Today we were advised by Texas health officials that they felt it was necessary for the health care worker currently on Carnival Magic to submit a blood sample for testing prior to the ship's arrival in Galveston tomorrow [Sunday] morning," Carnival said in a statement.
"As a result, a helicopter rendezvoused with the ship late this afternoon to facilitate the transfer of the sample," the cruise line said. "At this time Carnival Magic is expected to arrive tomorrow [Sunday] morning as scheduled."

Freaking hilarious, he thinks it's funny because Ebola hit in TX, where all dem stupid rednecks live.

"I can help on weekends in Chicago," Jeremy Voris volunteered on Facebook.
As part of the new screening process, travelers arriving from Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia must answer questions upon arrival, then have their temperatures taken with no-touch thermometers, CDC Director Thomas Frieden announced last week.

Coast Guard corpsmen with EMT training are also being recruited for the risky screening gig, a source said.About 150 people travel from or through the three Ebola-afflicted countries to the US every day, customs officials said.
Most of them land at JFK, where officers fear catching the deadly disease.

"We were told what to do for a passenger, but what happens with us? What if I get a fever? What should I do?" one officer said.
The officer was also troubled by possible flaws in the screening plan.

"For example, if someone has 108 fever and we catch it after they deplane, there were 132 other people on the plane with him and you just let them go," he said."You just possibly contaminated the person next to you and the flight attendant who handed you something."

(CNN) -- The U.S. military is forming a 30-person "quick strike team" equipped to provide direct treatment to Ebola patients inside the United States, a Defense Department official told CNN's Barbara Starr on Sunday.
A Pentagon spokesman later confirmed portions of the official's information.
The team will be under orders to deploy within 72 hours at any time over the next month, the official said.
The Department of Health and Human Services requested the military team, and the Pentagon has given verbal approval, the official said.
The team will include five doctors, 20 nurses and five trainers, Pentagon press secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby said in a statement..........

Thats reassuring - military deployment within our borders but the jackass in chief still wont close the border or post troops to detour illegals. Cant stop africans from coming in spreading this crap. Bet hes got more than med teams getting ready for deploying on home soil...

News as of October 10th when I was forced to stop paying attention due to my ever decreasing tolerance for the unmitigated stupidity of the fear mongering media:
2nd dude in texas tested negative for ebola.
... which means we've had a two-week long media circus over the death of a single man. good job media! i'm sure nothing else was happening that should have been reported on.

Only the liberals think all is just fine and cool with having a horrific disease here now.
What a crock, but typical of America hating loonies.

Its not over and Quarantine is necessary until it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Travel bans and restrictions to and from regions that have it are also needed !!!!!!!!!!
Like it or leave it still has to happen. Triple !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: WOMAN BEING TESTED FOR EBOLA AT INOVA LOUDOUNHealth care workers at Inova Loudoun in Lansdowne are currently testing a patient who is presenting symptoms of the Ebola virus, according to Tony Raker, spokesperson for Inova Healthcare Systems.

Raker said Inova is in contact with the county health department and the Centers for Disease Control at this time.

According to Sheriff Mike Chapman, the woman entered the country on Oct. 13 from a West African country at Washington Dulles International Airport.

MWAA Police found she had an outstanding warrant in Maryland. She was then taken to Loudoun's Adult Detention Center to await extradition.

As a precaution, because she traveled from a West African country, Chapman said the inmate was immediately isolated and monitored. The inmate presented a low-grade fever this morning and was taken in Inova Loudoun Hospital in Lansdowne to be evaluated for Ebola.

Chapman said the ADC was briefly shut down while the inmate was being transported to the hospital.

Raker said Inova in the past has been presented with at least a dozen of cases similar to the one they're working on right now and the team is well-prepared to handle the patient.

Health care workers at the hospital have constantly trained and prepared for this type of scenario, Raker said.

This is a developing story. Check back to LoudounTimes.com for more information as it becomes available.

The woman was delivered by men in hazmat gear. She has refused a blood test and so the health care facility says she "does not have Ebola" ????

Interesting, while they had ya'll worried about if you were going to live or die they were setting up to legalize 34 million. You have to watch what both hands are doing.:D
