I have several sets of Craig Spegel grips squirreled away waiting for the right revolver. All the work I've seen from him has been spectacular.

Altamont has been my choice of aftermarket grips on those occasions when I've wanted them. However, lately, they seem to be backlogged on many designs.

The set of square butt J frame grips I ordered took about four weeks. They just came a few days ago. I also use Houge and I have a nice set of rubber Pachmayr grips for my Python. They really suck up the recoil. They are smooth and slippery like plastic but soft and compressible like rubber. They were only 25 bucks from Midway.

Altamonts came on my new Carry Comp and they work OK.
My personal favorite, however, is VZ Grips.
They are on my two J frames and I find them functional and they look good at the same time.
Having said that, nothing is more comfortable for long shooting sessions than rubber.
