Be careful when buying tantals. Century builds might have the wrong bore. Its one of those situations where a random kit build is more trustworthy.

Any reliable way of determining whether or not your 5.45 barrel is actually 5.56?
Were the chambers bored, are serial #s know to be good production period, any visual muzzle tricks?

Yeah, I recall trying to do a serial number look up on one of mine. I can't remember the result.
My tantal never gets shot though. I take my JRA 74 out on the rare 5.45 day.

My only 5.45s are a saiga I need to convert and a bulgy kit. My one regret is not getting an AK 74 years ago for dirt cheap.
