No serial numbers ???? Excuse my ignorance but I thought all weapons have serial numbers ?

The "Gun Control Act" required all firearms made after 1968 to have serial numbers.
Some firearms before that date had no serial numbers, only date codes and other manufacturing identifiable marks.
