Im looking to buy a mosin, any model. Looking for a pretty solid shooter, although ive gotten pretty handy at cleaning these out really good and doing basic trigger jobs so straight shooting is more important than bolt action, trigger, ect.

Cash in hand ready to buy FTF in oregon, preferably close to Salem but I will travel a bit for the right deal.

Thanks for the heads up but probably a bit more than I want to pay...I plan on hacking it up and making a scout out of it so I really want cheap and un-collectable.

GB in Clackamas does not have any M38s. I was there Friday and they had a couple 1891/30s but the stocks were patched and I wasn't impressed.

I just acquired a Chinese Type 53 (Mosin M44 clone) from j&g sales, got one from 1955 in good condition, just cleaned it up and the action/rifling/stock are very decent. You might want to check those. (Listed at 129.00 + shipping).

Look in the Rifles for sale section. Someone posted an M44 within the past day or so. Located around Canby. I wanted it, but am way down here in Klamath Falls, and didn't want to drive that far.

Hard to find now days a Mosin below $199.00 when 6 months ago they were going for $99 on sale; but there is one in the sales forum posted yesterday for $175.00.

Also call Cabela's in Eugene, the website has the Mosin advertised at $149 but is not available for sale on line.
