I have a 1967 Winchester model 100 that I recently acquired. The firing pin was in a recall many years ago and mine had not been replaced. I am happy to say that Winchester still honors it. I called them and they were very nice. I sent my old one in and a new firing pin was sent to me. A+ Winchester.

These are amazing rifles. There was a very slim risk of the firing pin tip breaking and causing an out of battery firing. It is very easy to tell if it has been replaced. The original will spin in the reciever and is round. The replacement has flats and is captured. It will not rotate.

Back in the day, Winchester included a check for $35.00 to cover the cost of a gunsmith to convert your model 100 with the new firing pin.

i did the recall on my dads 100 about 10 years ago, I think he shot the 100 once after he bought it new in the early 60's when he worked at Washington Hardware in Tacoma, who had a very nice selection of firearms. I was happy to see he bought a spare mag for it.
