Pre 64 Model 94 that looks to be unmolested. Minor bluing loss on the receiver which it typical. The scratches on the receiver are unfortunate, but it does look to still have its original butt plate and sight hood.

The last one I bought in similar condition was a 1948 flat band model that I paid $800 for three years ago. YMMV.

Excellent ballpark estimate without the gun in hand. Unmolested is the most important part. Even non-collectors who have decided this is an essential to their gathering of guns are looking for "a good one". The market always exists for a good pre-64 94.

This is a good one.

I inherited a 1959 winchester model 94 30-30 and im hoping someone on here would be able to give me a general idea on what its worth so i know what i should ask for it when i go to sell it. It looks to be in good condition aside from a couple small scratches i would say.

I think if you put that gun up for $800.00 it will sell less than a minute after the ad posts.

Granted GunBroker guns seem to sell at a higher price in the long run, but I think it would sell for considerably more. $1,100.00 maybe? Maybe more than that?

Also, unless you're not a gun enthusiast, if that were mine I'd be buried with it!

I looked up your rifle on the (True Gun Value) website, and only nine 1959 Winchester model 94 30-30's were sold online in the last year, and the highest price paid was $1,500.00 and the lowest sold for $760.00. all in different states, which I think has a determining factor.
You can see for yourself, just enter "1959 Winchester model 94 30-30" and then select "Rifle" and it will then show all the last years sales.

With this mfr date, shooters may be interested to know this gun is factory drilled and tapped on the left rear of the receiver, ready for installation of a receiver peep. (Redfield, Lyman, Williams, etc.)

The single best improvement to this gun in a practical sense, and if the buckhorn is stashed, impact on the rifle's value would not be diminished.

I'd agree with you if it weren't winter time.

For a local sale, almost nothing moves unless it's absolutely bottom dollar.

Are we gonna be seein' how fast you can scrounge eight hundred bucks? :s0140:
Boy Howdy! Had I not already spent a little too much on a Dec/Jan '41-'42 Model 94 I'd jump on something like that for sure! Luckily I'm one of the few that doesn't need more than one-of-the-same guns kind of guy. :D

Well every screw on the receiver looks buggered. Normal.

The wood has undergone a sympathetic refinish at some point. Normal. And nice.
Finish has wear in a style often seen on 94's. I prefer worn over reblued. Maybe even new. [I don't think Im alone on this preference?]

Does the barrel look like a sewer pipe?

Im going to try to get some pictures later today in better lighting. I honestly dont really have any need for it therefore i would rather sell it and have someone else who actually will appreciate it. I also have a 1941 radom vis 35 9mm im going to be getting rid of also. Im just not a gun person is all so i dont need them sitting around.

Harsh, Dude. 😎

Sorry. That did sound harsh.

I like the gun. I really was trying to point out obvious flaws and say they don't really matter.
The rifle has value and looks good [honest] to me.

That is if the barrel and other things viewed on inspection look good.

A bore scope inspection is a prerequisite before I ever buy an older model 94.

Looking down the barrel with a bore light, everything can look good but once you have the bore scope inspection, it can show a lot of years of severe pitting and neglect.
