Join the #1 community for gun owners of the Northwest
We believe the 2nd Amendment is best defended through grass-roots organization, education, and advocacy centered around individual gun owners. It is our mission to encourage, organize, and support these efforts throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
I got a warning from my security looking at your photos so I'll ask what shape is the bullet loading port on the magazine? And do you have an overall photo of the rifle?
From the photos it appears the loading port is shaped like a .22 cartridge. Galley models would have had a triangular loading port that made it quicker to load. Also the majority of Gallery models had short barrels and almost full length magazines. Are you using the term Gallery as a generic term to describe a pump action .22?
It looks to be a 2nd version 1890 in .22 short. It could have been used as a gallery gun although it could have been used elsewhere. How is the barrel? The old corrosive primers used in the early days of this gun's time were not kind to them and black powder .22's were made up until WWII were corrosive also if the gun was not cleaned properly.
