- I have read and accept the classified system rules and terms of service.
It was a fun build and a really cool piece. I just don't use it and would like to find something I can use more. Heading North so, won't get used as much.
Little write up on the gun.
It's a mod 97 winchester and one of the first years. Made in 1901 and wish it could talk. It fired fine when I got it but the action was pretty gunked up after 20 or so rounds. Not the case now.
This is a take down / E model so easy to get apart the barrel.
John browning I think was on something though with this design. They are pretty intricate on the inside if you haven't tore apart one.. Check out the schematics.
Actions pretty solid and it's been cleaned up fires very smoothly.
The new owner may wish to use a varnish/stain linseed oil etc of whatever color they wish as it is pretty bare.
I personally didn't want to restrain the stick or blue it; as I prefer some of the originality.
The bluing is worn to the metal though in a lot of places. However, it functions and fires again just fine.
The bayonet lug and heat shield are solid and this is not the cheap flimsy model.
I picked the shield up from a member on here while back and have been happy with it.
Yes, it slam fires, yes it's a real win mod 97, No it doesn't have an ordnance stamp and it's not technically a real trench gun.
As close as you're going to get though without spending big money.
One additional thing to note on all of these are they normally aren't a fan of heavy loads. I cannot say for sure as I never fired anything other than bird shot so, can't say for sure if it would like 00buck or what not.
Could be a really cool grouse gun.
Not sure what value to put on this so, I'll just throw it up for trade.
I don't have a lot I'm after but feel free to throw whatever out there.
Some things that I'm interested in are listed below. I can add items if your value is more.
Ruger Alaskan in 45/454
Pre 64 mod 70 / 308 or larger caliber
Other 308 rifles or larger caliber
H&K P7 or similar
Night Vision and thermals.
Lever in 45-70
High end glass
Colt SAA 45LC
Maybe a BH/RH Ruger variant.
1911's & 2011's
I don't need any more Glocks but a fan of H&K. Like wheel guns.
Other than that pretty open and shoot me a pm if interested.
