Prayers have been heard ! Thank you all !. She was moved out of ICU two days ago. She can start to swallow. She can talk (slowly some slurred speech). I have used FaceTime and the last two days she knows me, understands me talking to her. Her right side is still non functioning but neurologic test on her right toes reacted to pain. She has a long way to go but she is coming back to me.

Special thank you to all the doctors / nurses / specialist / at Peace Health Hospital in Vancouver ! They have saved her life !

That makes my day.
Continued well wishes.

Thank you all once again for the prayers. She was in a rehab facility for three days but developed edema in her brain where the stroke was. So she's back in the hospital again but stable and responding to treatment. Possible if edema continues and get larger they would have to go in and put a drain tube in. next 24hrs we'll have a better idea.

Today she was transferred to Inpatient Rehab at the hospital. Very stable. No feeding tube. Her right arm and leg are showing signs of sensations. The reflexes are responding to touch. I did see her slightly move her foot yesterday and a nurse said she felt a light squeeze of her hand early in the morning of the same day. She is doing much better with talking but still having trouble putting thought into words as she will not say the words she wanted to and gets frustrated by that.

She is suffering from emotionally labile mainly crying but as she talks more she will have angry responses as I try to calm her during a crying faze. This rehab unit at Peace Health has extensive experience with this in stroke patients so I was comforted by the Doctor as this was one of my main concerns fearing she would lose the ability to stay focused while being worked with in this rehab process. Very tired as I spend 12hr days with her since last Saturday. I often forget to eat and drink water and don't feel much like doing so. Had family remind me to eat a little and make sure to drink water. I have gotten a bit better as seeing her improvements this last week has given me hope.

Good to hear! Keep friends and family near. They help a lot just by being there. And when they'll let you, get everyone she knows who's willing to visit her at least once. I've heard it helps a lot.

I know it's very hard as I've seen a close friend go through something similar but stay strong, she needs you and you need her. It will shake out and get better, but it will be a hard road. We are here for you.

Continued prayers sent for Julie and you. Remember to not neglect yourself physically or emotionally. One needs to stay healthy right now to help her recover. It is amazing what the human body with Gods help can overcome.
