I feel ya!
Not sure If I have a bottle handy right now, but Doggy Face Wash and/or Puppy Shampoo unscented is what you use on their face and around their eyes! it might take a couple applications, but it works miracles for my Newfies as it did on my past Golden Retrievers who seemed to be hell bent to hunt down every skunk in the county!
For a full body wash, I found Mint Castile Soap works better then any other method at getting rid of Skunk, though the Tomato sauce/juice works quite well, it's pretty harsh and not good to use around their face and eyes, and will absolutely cause an ear infection! Be extra careful using ANYTHING with Mint oil, it will burn, it is harsh on sensitive areas like faces and eyes, as well as Hygiene Areas, fortunately, it dilutes very well, so it rinses off nice and quick!
For any lingering smells, Get a bottle of Main and Tail Horse wash shampoo/conditioner, that will absolutelt get rid of any lingering skunk sent, and leaves your floofers coat nice and shiny and tangle free, Trust me, I have Newfies!

Thanks, it's a 4 hour job on a good day, the Floofer in that photo is a Clown who thinks Bath Day is Play Day, and so it takes 6+ hours to do a full groom from start to finnish! The other Newfie knows it's serious, so he just enjoys the attention and treatos for being so good! The Malinator is super easy, a quick hour is all it takes and he absolutely LOVES it!

Yeah, I know...but it was late at night and I didn't want to make a trip to Winco. My thought was if it bothered the little lady so much, she could drive. But she didn't either. Meh. We've been married a while.
Now that you know they are around buy a couple of those large cans of the juice. Keep for the next emergency. Hopefully the poor pooch will remember to leave those critters a wide berth now

8 years ago my wife FINALLY talked me into getting a dog. She talked me into it by showing me the finances, and explained how little it would cost, just food and a couple of toys. . .

6 months old: eye surgery due to running full speed through blackberry bushes and tearing inner lid- $700

1 year old: had surgery to remove 20 rocks she ate: $1000

2 years old: blew out BOTH CCLs in both rear knees- had to have double knee reconstruction surgery. Surgery cost $5,000 EACH knee. Then for the next 4 months, weekly water treadmill and laser treatment physical therapy/rehab, at a tune of $70 a week for 4 months. Total cost:$10,900.

Age 3,4, and 5: removal of cancerous bumps: $1k each for a total of $3,000

Total surgery cost over 5 years: $15,600.

She is now eight, and is happy and healthy.

Would we do it all over again? Yep, in a heartbeat- dogs are family. . .

When Daisy got sprayed last year I used hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and a wee bit of Dawn dish detergent. That cut the order right away.
That is what works best. And the pet supply store has an enzyme spray. Our dog got sprayed and I did not know that when I let him back in the house. He tried to rub off the skunk spray on the carpet, and living room furniture. Our whole house stunk like a skunk. The hydrogen peroxide/baking soda bath worked on the dog and the enzyme spray worked on the carpet and furniture.

Mine ( Newfoundland ) can drag a loaded F- 250 along behind him, all the preps one would need in one place! :s0155:
My pup doesn't have that sort of stamina. Newfoundland's are beasts. I'm lucky to finish a two mile walk before he throws the towel in. Worst case though, he only weighs 27lbs, I can throw him in my pack and truck on.

Time for me to get my cat a new pet insurance that I might link to my AAA.
Its looking like 179.88 per year (roughly 15 per month) on the Wellness or office visit.
and
36.00 per month on a $300 deductible 70% coverage....
90% coverage is 96/month $100.00 deductible.
Anyone know any place better?

Today I had door dash deliver breakfast. My dog got in my way answering the door and she stepped on it, cutting my toe. So I got the breakfast in and ate some then offered her a breakfast sandwich.

She was looking so sad, like she knew she messed up. When I gave the sandwich the look of sadness left her eyes. She took it and marched straight out into the back yard to eat it. It was like she was taking her prize and getting the heck outta dodge before I changed my mind and took it away from her or something.
