Yes it is and its been going on all my life. A LOT of people have an amazing ability to only believe what they want to believe no matter what. Look how many gun owners were severely damaged by the last election. They actually wanted knee pads to win.

Washington, as an overall state, has a high percentage of gun owners. However, the voters putting so many D's in the state legislature overwhelmingly come from liberal counties where the percentage of gun ownership is lower.

So this begs the question...what is wrong with these people in liberal counties? Were they dropped on their heads as children and no longer know what the word "freedom" means? So sick of these anti-American bubblegums!

What we have LONG had is people who have it too easy and have had it that way for too long. A huge portion of them just pay little to no attention to what is going on around them. Many of them watch places like CNN and such a few hours a week and just accept everything they hear. Don't bother to try to find out whats going on. A lot of them want to be taken care of. If they make poor choices and someone from gov is there to bail them out every time? They will often gladly throw out freedom for that promise to just never be held to account for the poor choices they make. This leads to places like CA and the mess they have there now.

I was friends with only liberal elite families as a child even though my family was poor and divorced. Yet even I, the blacksheep, knows how valuable freedom is, how precious our foundation is, and that most all progressive arguments are obviously disingenuous and plain stupid. So, that is why I will never get it...never. It's just too obvious that you don't sell your birthright for a bowl of stew!

I was friends with only liberal elite families as a child even though my family was poor and divorced. Yet even I, the blacksheep, knows how valuable freedom is, how precious our foundation is, and that most all progressive arguments are obviously disingenuous and plain stupid. So, that is why I will never get it...never. It's just too obvious that you don't sell your birthright for a bowl of stew!

For many it seems to become like cult members. They get over the top angry when facts are pointed out to them that do not fit.
I grew up with both parents who were FAR left. As I got old enough to see what was going on with gov I noticed they would both get super angry at the things being done to them by the people they voted for. When I would ask why they were angry at the people they voted for they would get even angrier and blame people who did not have any power here. It was interesting to watch it growing up.
