Okay so bubba got a hold of this one and I tried to save it using another bubba stock, but dammit two bubbas doesn't make a right.
What we have here is an Amberg 1914 model 1898 Gewehr modernized into a Kar98. This was a sporter rescue, so no numbers match, and it appears to be painted black.
I also found a mostly complete original Kriegsmodell stock that some fool had cut the buttplate off (WHO DOES THAT?) and glued a rubber buttpad on. I sourced an original cupped buttplate, but there needs to be some additional wood added to the rear of the stock to safely mount the buttplate. It should be easy to fix, but I don't have proper woodworking tools or the time to deal with it anymore.
Really, the barrel is fine and she headspaces fine, all components present and ready to fire. But the muzzle was cut and crowned and that drives me bonkers. But I have weapons-grade autism and maybe you don't so it won't bother you at all.
How's about tree-fiddy ($350)? $300 price drop. That seems a fair bargain. Transfer on you at A Cut Above Pawn.
