Varmint hunting

I have a 14 year old and would like to take him on some kind of fun hunt this spring. I am willing to travel to just about anywhere in WA, OR, ID, MT, or within about a days drive.

I have heard about all the good ground hog/sage rat/prairie dog/ect hunting in some of these areas. Problem is I have no idea where to go or who to talk to about it. If anyone has any suggestions on who to ask or where to get more information I would greatly appreciate it.

I would like to take him to one of these areas for a couple of days during spring break in April. I would bring the toy hauler to stay in and the ATV(s) and truck for getting around if needed.
