Yes they are, and they are readily available too, but enough different from other 5.56 AK mags to not interchange with other 5.56 AKs (there is no standard for AK mags in 5.56). Maybe Galil parts would fit too?

I wasn't sure they would fit though as I never had Valmets in 5.56, mine were 7.62x51 and took special mags (modified HK 91 mags).

But Valmets, Galils (some of which were modified Valmets) and R4s are probably the best Kalashnikovs one can get IMO.
