Good point. I mean, really. I'm dying to read the rest of the paper after that thesis.cool, but not a restrictive gun law

The UK lost their guns, now they're losing their free speech.
All according to plan.
No offense intended, but this is not the flex you think it is.'The UK lost their guns, now they're losing their free speech'.
Yup, that's me, ol 'no-gun's tac'...

The three entries at the bottom are for a .577 Snider Short rifle, a .577 Pritchett Volunteer rifle and a .451cal Parker-Hale Whitworth rifle.
This is one-half of the firing point at the Queens/Kings Cup comp TR shoot - Stickledown 1200 yard range with 100 points - earlier this year. As you can clearly see, all those good folks there from all over the shooting world, including the USA, are just lazing in the sun, and not actually doing anything.

I'm definitely not privileged in any way, just another old pensioner with a little collection of old guns. As for having the facility to drive your truck out to the middle of nowhere - and a LOT of the USA is like that - unlimber the ol' .50cal and let rip in any direction, well, that's the benefit of living in a VAST country. There are 68 million of us here in one little island, and shooting where you want is just not on the cards. No offense intended, but this is not the flex you think it is.
Unless you were being intentionally facile, let me interpret that quote for you:
The ability to own firearms in the UK has been continually and aggressively stripped away to the point that it is only for the privileged few. Additionally, even for those privileged few, they are severely limited in the types of firearms they can acquire as well as where they can actually use those firearms.
So yeah, the UK hasn't technically "lost" all of their guns, but I think deep down inside, you get the point @Ginocide was making![]()
Yeah I could see land constraints necessitating specific shooting locations; that's a lot of people in not a lot of space comparatively!I'm definitely not privileged in any way, just another old pensioner with a little collection of old guns. You want to win friendship and influence people who are dead set on repealing the 2nd amendment and confiscating ALL guns? Because that is their goal. This kind of thinking, where someone who disagrees with your point of view is "not American," along with sliding into conspiracy language about "globalists," does not help the gun community win friends and influence people. It puts us in a corner and makes us look like troglodytes.
