This analysis of the waiting periods proposed by gun control advocates prior to the retail purchase of a handgun concludes that a real possibility exists that gun waiting periods threaten public safety by diverting law enforcement resources and disarming law-abiding citizens.

"Good news! Now the citizens will have to depend even more on us (mostly useless) politicians, to give them more of the same (nothing)!" (-anti2a people, probably)

Its never been about "safety" except when used as campaign platform points. Its always about controlling who gets to stay armed and who don't.

IIRC there was a study a few years back that indicated LEO's almost never followed up on denied BGC's anyway, maybe that was just OR? I guess that would deny them the opportunity to say "Oh, yeah, we knew about that guy" after the fact

Awwwwww.........Come On Man
We need to extend any waiting period to at least a year before it can be effective.

Is that you Brandon?

It's already been proven that people have gotten killed during these bewel sheet waiting periods when they needed their gun the most. It serves as nothing but a political barrier to the individual citizens. Makes no sense, especially with anyone who has a CPL, etc. Background check on a background check. But going back to my point on political barriers....

1993 you say? At least they initially called it a waiting period. California called it a "Cooling off period", because, obviously if you bought a gun, you were angry and wanted to shoot someone.

The correct term should be closer to danger period. Because if you did need a gun for defense, you are in more danger while you wait.
