I looked up the serial number on trijicon website and it only confirmed genuine product no specific dates. I'm putting it at under 2 years old easily

The reticle is set up for 5.56 ranging but it will handle. 308 recoil without an issue. As with any optic you'd have to learn the reticle to use it with a different caliber is all.
