I am not sure ... I know you can buy a .50AE barrel for about $600 but I am not a gunsmith ...

No Sir ... It says on the side of the gun: ".41/.44 Magnum" ... Sincerely I didn't try to shoot .41 magnum ... but that's what says on the barrel.

If you are looking at the specs side-by-side the differences are very small ... I assume you can fire them both through the same barrel.

The .44 magnum specifications: and the .41 magnum:

You can NOT shoot .41s out of a .44 barrel!
I got a super early production DE44 with a secondary magazine that is marked "41", it doesn't work very well compared to the real-deal 44 one.
The real DEs made to shot 41 Magnum are super rare...

It CAN however be converted to '50AE easily, but expensive, by buying a new barrel and magazine for it. The bolt is the same on both.

After reading some internet forums, I am now convinced you cannot shoot the .41 Mag through a .44 Mag barrel.
