Titanium is twice the weight of most aluminum alloys and 2/3's the weight of steel. Aluminum is roughly 1/3 the weight of steel.

I have made a bunch of stuff from Titainum I made blades and folding knife frames from it when I was a Custom Knifemaker. I also made model airplane landing gear and tail skids from it.
 
Like the new heizer doubletap. It will be made in titanium or aluminum. All my friends want the Ti version.
I say why? It costs more. And it's heavier.

On a side note, I would love to take an AR in .300 win mag for a run!
