I finally ordered copies of my 3 DD214's, mainly for my kid's curiosity. The last one was kind of weird and not finalized correctly, but if they think I'm in, I think they owe me a lot of dimes....

It was bare minimum dd214 only. I had a letter I was hoping was preserved too but it wasn't.You can order a copy of your records from archive. I did this for my Dad's service records so that I could write out the military history for the grandkids.
Edit: found the link. I also requested mine to see if everything from my last command made it in there.

Veterans and their next of kin can get FREE copies of their DD 214, and other military service records including Official Military Personnel File (OMPF), Replacement Medals, and Medical and Health Records.www.archives.gov
