For sale - Tippmann M4-22

I bought this gun about a year ago from Bullseye Tacoma, it is Washington compliant with a fake flash hider milled into the barrel. I've decided to sell it as I plan to purchase another gun. Also, this gun seems to only cycle certain ammo, maybe it just needs a cleaning. In total, I have put around 300 rounds through it and have never cleaned it. *Prefer to sell to an Oregonian as it is difficult find an FFL in Washington that will approve the transfer unless buyer can verify an FFL in Washington (Vancouver area) is willing to facilitate transfer.
Trade for 9mm Glock or 12g shotgun.
Includes:
Original box with Lock and key
Can throw in a Holosun 403r red dot and original packaging for an extra $100. It is sighted in at 25 yards through Safefire in Camas.
Factory waffle stock
Factory back up iron sights
Magpul qd mount
1 - 10 round and 4 - 25 round magazines
Variety of ammo such as Aquila and CCI
Thanks for reading.

Interesting.
I've owned several Tippmann M4 22LR's and currently have 2 of them in the safe. They'll devour any and all brands of ammunition i feed them with zero concerns or issues. They just keep on running whether I clean them after every range trip or not. Absolutely the best rimfire platform for the price.

The day I purchased it from Bullseye up in Tacoma, the guys over there suggested I run CCI Mini Mag so I bought some and tried it in their range then had a couple of malfunctions right out of the box. I was worried about it and thats when they told me that the 22 lr platform needs to be cleaned constantly to function properly so I didn't question it further. Every range trip I have there seems to be a couple of malfunctions and it seems to be more noticeable with hollow points. What do you think could be the issue? Also, do you think I have it priced right as it comes with a red dot, extra magazines, and extra hardware? Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Good morning, and welcome to the forum!

Wouldn't hurt to reach out to Tippmann for further advice, or at least try using ammo that's not considered to be high velocity just to see if it runs better? My Tippmann's run just fine with hollow points, but those aren't high velocity either. I've not had any concerns with CCI mini mags other than with Ruger Mark IV's, and that's easily corrected by switching out spring assemblies. It's certainly true that some 22LR ammo is better than others, and when you find what works best for you, stick with that whenever you can. Your Tippmann should be able to run just about anything, but it it wasn't cleaned when new, I'd get that done before your next range trip.

Another thought is NEVER dry fire the weapon, or any other 22LR platform whether it's a rifle, carbine or pistol. Doing so will certainly damage the firing pin and/or the extractor and can easily cause further damage to the firearm.

With regard to pricing, you may or may not be in the ballpark priced as it is with the obvious upgrades and Holosun red dot. Might not be a bad idea to separate the carbine, upgraded stock and red dot into separate listings just to see if things move faster. Price them to sell if you want to see them move quickly, but consider using standard velocity CCI ammo on your next range trip and you'll most likely find that you'll never want to part with it! :)

Oh, and good luck with your sale!

Good morning and thanks for offering words of wisdom to this new guy. I'll stick to your advice and run more standard velocity ammo and clean it before my next range trip unless it sells beforehand. I never dry-fire it, so that shouldn't be a problem but thanks for educating me on the consequences because I've never read the manual. Additionally, I agree with your take on pricing and will update it right now. Thanks again.

I'm consistently getting ridiculously good groups at 100 yards with a scope mounted on the Tippmann M4 22LR. I have found those things to not only be surprisingly accurate, but very reliable as well. Yours should turn out the same, whether you sell it or not.

Go Ducks! :)
