I beat them up pretty good on the sticker price, and was feeling good about myself when I left.

Should have known they would get the best of me.

This might be a strange thing to post on a shooting forum but here goes.
Anyone else caught this season's flu?
I have not had the flu in many years, I get my shot yearly, I ain't skeered of the flu shot as it seems to typically keep me from catching the flu bug.
Got my shot last Nov. but this years strain just laughed and kicked me in the bubblegum with much gusto!
The worst of it lasted around a week but it settled into my lungs as a bronchial thing and is relentless, week #5 now, better every day but still having to use my Albuterol inhaler fairly regularly.
I read somewhere this years shot formula (?) did not match the actual virus that hit this season.
Also at 68 I'm no spring chicken and a former cigarette smoker of 27 years so I have a self inflicted susceptibility to respiratory issues that non-smokers might not have.
I haven't personally had it. Other than massive fatigue working truly redonkulous hours there for a bit, no illness; knock on wood. (I have gotten the flu shot every year religiously after a very bad flu infection that resulted in hospitalization when I was about 20 years old.)

Recently, my occupation took me to various emergency rooms, ICUs, and similar, where I saw plenty of victims of this year's influenza strains. I'm not particularly squeamish, nor was that my first rodeo in such facilities, but it was rather ghastly. (Though, naturally, not all of it was from the flu.)

Here's wishing you all wellness. Stay safe. 🌼
