Well, spring is underway and summer will be soon upon us. How's about a thread devoted to all things outdoor cooking?

You know: grilling, BBQ, smoking, solar cooking, Dutch oven cooking, Hibachi, et al. Could share recipes / techniques for favorite dishes: beef, pork, chicken, seafood, veggies, etc. And discussion of best equipment, sauces, marinades, seasonings, sides, BBQ guns, etc. Or whatever suits your fancy.

Enjoy. ☀️ 😃

On the topic: anyone have a outdoor grill they really like? (I'll likely replace a real basic one we have on hand.)

Probably going gas with this one.
I have an old TEC that I love, but they're kind of insanely priced now. Although I paid around $1800 for the basic not-all-stainless patio model in 2000, so maybe the prices aren't that crazy. They can get really hot so you can sear steaks like nothing else. Still made in the USA.

I've still got the TEC grill 25 years later, so it was a good investment. Parts are pretty expensive but a few years ago I found one on Craigslist that wasn't used much and bought it for parts. Only things that really go bad are the infrared burners and the grill grates. But takes about ten years before you need to think about that.

Thinking back on it, when I moved back to the PNW after being away 10 years, I was single and just bought a new place. I went out and bought an expensive mattress and an expensive grill. Rest of the place was eventually furnished, but my big purchases were the bed and grill. Priorities!
